Panasonic India has announced the launch of two new smartphones in India. These are the P50 Idol and P65 Flash. The Panasonic P50 Idol carries a price tag of Rs. 6,790 while the P65 Flash is priced at Rs. 8,290.
Panasonic is targeting the festive season when there will be increased sales of phones and other gadgets for gifting purposes.
Both the Panasonic P50 Idol and P65 Flash have similar features. Both of them run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Under the hood, they have a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. Further, they also feature 8 GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded to 32 GB using microSD. Both the phones come with dual-SIM slots. They feature an 8-megapixel rear camera coupled with LED flash. There is also a 2-megapixel camera on the front panel.
Connectivity features offered by the smartphones include 3G support, GPRS/EDGE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth.
Where the phones differ is the screen size and battery. The Panasonic P50 Idol sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. On the other hand, the Panasonic P65 Flash features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. The Panasonic P50 Idol and Panasonic P65 Flash are powered by 2150mAh and 2910mAh powerpacks respectively.
Physically, the P50 Idol measures 142×71.5×8.7mm and weighs 139 grams. On the other hand, the P65 Flash measures 151×77.8×8.95mm and 168 grams.
In a statement the company said, “With the release of the P50 Idol and P65 Flash, Panasonic now offers nearly 30 smartphones at affordable price points for every buyer to indulge themselves or their loved ones this festive season.”
