How to find the name of the song from its tune

If you’re like me, you might have heard a song and forgotten its lyrics. You may only be able to recall that tune of the song. In such cases, how do you recall the name of the song? It is easy to find out the name of the song even if you remember some of the lyrics correctly. All you have to do is run a search in Google and you will most probably find the name of the song. This will work in most cases provided that the song is not very obscure. However, if you remember only the tune of the song, Google will not help.

There are certain websites that allow you to hum a tune and find the name of the song. However, I have found that these websites are not very accurate. I’m not sure if this is due to the poor quality of my microphone or the inefficiency on the part of the site. Could be both. But here is a better option…

There is an Android app called SoundHound that allows you to find the name of the song from its tune. It is fast and at the same time very accurate. It also comes with a large database of files and a good algorithm that works efficiently. You can also use this app to listen to music as it comes with many songs.

SoundHound uses a technology known as sound2sound which searches sound against sound. You can hum any part of the song or record the song or tune by playing it using speakers. The app basically captures the sound using the microphone, searches its database for matches and displays you with related results. It recognizes humming and beats without any issues but sometimes has a little trouble in recognizing lyrics, especially if they are not pronounced properly.

All your searches are stored in the history of the app and so if you forget your song again, you can go through the history to find it back. You can also use this app to search for new songs. The app also displays the lyrics when the song is playing.

Overall, this is a very nice app. In my opinion, it is one of the must-have apps on your smartphone. SoundHound is available for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone. If you have a smartphone running any of these operating systems, you can probably be able to remember back all the songs you have forgotten..
